Getting the WAMP file

Download it from here: http://www.wampserver.com/en/download.php
Install the program just follow the default selections, select default browser: my choice Chrome.
Ok now when WAMP is installed we are going to go and download Wordpress.

Download Wordpress

Here is the link for that: http://wordpress.org/download/.
Save that to the computer.

Create a database

Go to the WAMP icon and then chose localhost.

Press on the phpmyadmin text to get to the databas.

Enter the name for the database, for this example ill choose ”databastest”.

Install Wordpress on the localhost

Extract the Wordpress zip-file and move it to the folder c:\wamp\www\
After that open the wp-config.php file in the Wordpress directory with a HTML program or with a text editor, and enter the information for the database, as u remember mine was databastest. Now print root in for DB_USER and leave the password blank save it and close the editor.

Now open the browser and type in: localhost/wordpress/wp-config.php Fill in the name of the site and choose a password and press on the Install Wordpress button.

Wordpress installed and ready to use!

Enter your password and press on the Log in button.

Now you are finished!

tilt shift

I watched a really cool Tilt-Shift Photography film on Youtube yesterday. I got so impressed that i wanted to do one picture for myself. So lets start!

Step 1 – Choose a good image

Its impotent to choose a right image for your Tilt-Shift effect! Miniature models are usually viewed from above so try and choose a photo with an elevated viewpoint. Bear in mind to make sure there is a reasonable wide angle of view. I choosed a picture from my home town Karlstad. Not the best picture but i really liked it.

Step 2 – Choose your tools

Now when you have opened your picture Photoshop, pressing Q on the keyboard, or select the Quick Mask icon. After you have done that, choose the Gradient Tool by pressing G on the keyboard, or select the Gradient Tool icon. Be sure to choose the Reflected Gradient option!

Step 3 – Make a Quick Mask

Draw lines in the picture for your gradient quick mask. You can do this as many times as you want to you are satisfied. Now when you are happy press Q or icon on the Tool Palette. You will now have a area that is marked.

Step 4 – Make a Lens Blur

Choose Filter > Blur > Lens Blur. Here you can experiment with different effects. Press OK hen you are satisfied. Remove Selection Boundary, press CTRL-D on the keyboard to remove the ”marching ants” selection bounday.

Step 5 – Hue/Saturation Adjustment

Now press on ”make a new fill or adjustment layer” and choose Hue/Saturation Adjustment. Boost the Master saturation to some where around +30 to +40.

Step 6 – Adjust Curves

This is the last thing you have to do. Now press on ”make a new fill or adjustment layer” again and choose Curves. Try to get a small but simple S-curve.

Welcome!

Hey, starting up my Wordpress site today. After finishing my old site it was time to try something different and learn more new stuff.

Wordpress for me, is not something new, but I have never had one myself. So it was finally time to take a step forward and make one. This site is going to work like a project for me when I’m searching for a job and starting up my own web design company.

So who am i? Well I consider my self as a web designer now. I have study programming for three years and didn’t quit find that so entertaining so I start to work as a shop manager for a couple of years, working with clothes. Got tired of that, quit my safe job and got back to school to study web design at University of Borås.

Now my studying has come to an end and my desire to succeed as a web designer is my dream. Hopefully this Wordpress portfolio will help me with that

This Wordpress will contain all kinds of stuff that I like and are interested in. Everything from web design to logotypes to tutorials ( in Illustrator, Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver) to articles that I will write.
